Research Manager

The Research Manager (RM) has primary responsibility, in collaboration with Account Executives, for the successful design of research projects and the delivery and interpretation of compelling, insightful study results. An RM will also work with Research Analysts, so the ability to lead and develop staff is important. Additionally, an RM has high-level responsibility pertaining to product innovation and process development, including research best practices as well as research strategy and tactics.

  1. Assist Account Executives with development of business-focused research objectives and hypotheses; and with the scoping and designing of research projects to address those objectives and hypotheses
  2. Develop high-quality, business compelling research instruments that are designed to meet the client objectives
  3. Work with the research team to ensure that the research execution is consistent with field specifications and deliver on time and within budget
  4. Maintain clear, timely communications with internal and external stakeholders/clients
  5. Own the design of analysis plan, typically including: basic statistics (frequecies and crosstabs) and the application of advance multivariate methods (such as logistic or linear regression, principal components analysis, conjoint analysis, clustering/segmentation models, etc.)
  6. Collaborate with the Research Team to develop insightful interpretations of study results once the field closes and data analysis is complete
  7. Demonstrate a high level of expertise when architecting research and designing proposals, questionnaires, reports, and analytic plans
  8. Develop the skills of Research Team members
  1. Minimum requirement Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Marketing, Business, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  2. Three or more years of experience with quantitative market research; custom research experience required
  3. Experience working for a market research supplier in an analytical or project management
  4. function with report writing responsibilities
  5. Ability to manage multiple project tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  6. Proven leadership/management and team-building skills
  7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills
  8. Proficiency in SPSS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  9. Strong understanding of basic statistics and analysis techniques
  10. Demonstrated competency and/or strong desire to learn more advanced analytical methods like conjoint models, discrete choice, perceptual mapping, MDA, principal components analysis, linear and logistic regression, and other techniques
  11. Keen eye for detail and superior organizational skills

Research Analyst

The Research Analyst (RA) is responsible for working on primary market research projects in a team environment, and is expected to support all phases of a research project. This position involves significant hands-on involvement in project tasks on a daily basis.

  1. Communicating with data collection vendors to ensure that sample frame, quality objectives
  2. and project deadlines are achieved
  3. Developing project schedules and organizing project meetings
  4. Programming, testing and verifying web programs
  5. Supporting data management (e.g. data cleaning, open-end coding, and merging of data files)
  6. Creating banner table plans and verifying banner table accuracy; communicating and resolving
  7. problems with tabbing partner Populating client deliverables (e.g. reports, scorecards, PowerPoint presentations)
  8. Performing quality checks for client deliverables
  1. Minimum requirement Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Marketing, Business, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Ability to manage multiple project tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  4. Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  5. Familiarity with SPSS or other statistical analysis packages
  6. Understanding of basic statistics and analysis techniques
  7. Keen eye for detail and superior organizational skills
